Intel Corp. has notified its partners about its decision to introduce of its next-generation code-named Ivy Bridge processors in the second quarter of 2012. Previously the company planned to release the Core i 3000-series central processing units (CPUs) for desktops in March – April timeframe, which left a possibility to unveil the chips in the first quarter.
Intel’s Ivy Bridge was originally planned to be released right about now but got pushed back to early 2012 back in May.
The intel is going to move from existing 32 nm to 22 nm with its new processor. The new processor will be using, 3D processor which has never been used in previous processors, these transistors will have 3D movement of electrons which earlier was in Plannar Fashion. Due to this significant change the performance of processor is going to increase and also power consumption will decrease. The decreased power consumption will ensure better battery life of the Laptops. These processors will also be developed for smaller devices like Tablets, mobiles. This technology will give major leap to Intel and will bring intel much ahead of competitors. So let us wait for these processors......
